  • Walking Withdrawal: Upon Returning from NYC

I will not stop walking. I will not stop walking. I will not stop walking. After five days in the Big Apple, I feel like I’ve just begun. But now I’m back in Beverly Hills with real errands to do in neighborhoods outside of our own few blocks. And a kid who would prefer to be dropped off at a meeting. My vow: to NOT drive my car - and still go places - until next Monday. Yep, by bus. By foot. Still not so sure about the bike. The gym up on the roof at La Cienega and Wilshire: TAO; Westwood for the UCLA Extension Certification in Fund-raising meeting. I hoofed it uptown along 5th Ave. from 25th to 82nd to visit my friend Evalyn, a librarian at the Met for our practically private tour of the Picasso exhibit on a closed Monday. How much more to see - even more than taking the bus. But my favorite walk (and a bus for the last leg) was to The High Line Park, a magnificent, innovative public narrow park, constructed on top of a rail overpass:  http://www.thehighline.org/
